Mentor Session ("we", "us") helps engineers practice mock interviews with AI. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account data — email address, display name, and authentication details when you sign up (including via Google or GitHub OAuth).
- Practice data — interview scenarios, your spoken answers (transcribed text), scores, feedback, session history, career track, and difficulty preferences.
- Payment data — subscription status and payment references processed by our payment provider. We do not store full card numbers.
- Feedback you send — optional messages submitted through the in-app feedback form.
- Technical data — basic logs needed to operate the service (for example, error reports and request metadata).
How we use your information
- Provide mock interview sessions, scoring, and personalized feedback.
- Save your progress and sync it across devices when you are signed in.
- Process Pro subscriptions and confirm payment status.
- Improve reliability, fix bugs, and respond to support requests.
- Send transactional emails such as account confirmation and password reset links.
AI and voice processing
Interview content is processed by third-party AI services (including Google Gemini) to generate scenarios, transcribe speech, score answers, and produce feedback. Do not submit confidential employer, customer, or trade-secret information during practice sessions.
Service providers
We rely on trusted processors to run Mentor Session, including:
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
- Google Gemini — AI interview generation, transcription, and feedback.
- Fapshi — payment processing for Pro subscriptions.
- Vercel — application hosting.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies.
Data retention
We keep your account and session data while your account is active so you can review past practice. You may request deletion of your account and associated practice data by contacting us.
Your choices
- You can update preferences such as language and career track in the app.
- You can sign out or delete your account by contacting us.
- We do not sell your personal information.
Security
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls on our database. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data responsibly.
Children
Mentor Session is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.
